In March, the Thackers and Petrones came to visit so they could see our home and go skiing in Whistler! We obviously had a wonderful time, but since Rebecca and I are both pregnant the skiing wasn't quite as eventful as it could have otherwise been. I can't wait to go back and ski Whistler when I'm not pregnant. I know you're not supposed to ski pregnant, but I figured it would be safe if I stuck to the green trails.
It was by far the most beautiful ski place I've been to and I thought the drive to Whistler had views more beautiful than I experienced in Hawaii.
We made a trip out to Pike's Place Market the day before we drove to Whistler. Autumn is posing with the monk fish that's rigged to scare you. Autumn is also trying to get a good picture with her sweet cousin Eva on the pig right by the fish spot, but Eva wasn't too fond of it evidently. This is the only picture I could find where she didn't look extremely ticked at being placed there.
Our first dinner in Whistler was at an amazing spot right in Whistler Village. I can't remember the name, but Zach did a wonderful job in finding it for us. Wonderful food and the kids were surprisingly well behaved.
We didn't sign Autumn up for ski school again since she took weekly lessons close to home. We would ski with her some and then drop her off at the hotel. She was a champ and really improved over the two days we skied. Ashley was in class all day the first day and chose not to ski at all the second day.

Happy 3rd Pre-Birthday! |
Levi's 3rd Birthday was just a few days after the family left so on the drive home from Whistler we stopped and picked up a cheesecake to celebrate with (the only cake we could find on the spur of the moment that Autumn could share with us). Everyone went home the next day and my kids were so sad and insisted we move back to Texas to be closer to everyone. I believe everyone had a blast on this trip - at least my family did.

Water/Sand table gift |
The little ones are enjoying Levi's gift from Grandma and Granddaddy. You wouldn't believe the mess Levi can make with this thing. Our dogs also insist that it's their water bowl now even though they have a perfectly clean water bowl without sand in it only 10 ft away.

Ben & Jerry's after The Lego Movie |
Happy 3rd Birthday!!! |
On Levi's actual birthday, the little ones and I went to the movies and then walked to Ben & Jerry's afterwards (David was working and Ashley was at school). I was feeling awful that day so I cancelled the zoo day we had planned because I really wasn't up to doing anything requiring much movement. Thankfully three-year-old boys can have fun anywhere - I'm pretty sure Autumn would have been mad at me if it was her birthday. Later than night we celebrated with cupcakes, ice cream and presents! Levi had quite the sugar high that day after having both ice cream for lunch and dinner and then a cupcake.

Autumn demonstrating Levi's present from Grandma and Grandpa |
The rest of the month we just did our usual thing - hiking, going to parks, etc. We made a trip out to the zoo on a day I was feeling ok and we finally visited the Seattle Aquarium. I thought it would be amazing since it was on the waterfront and I was prepared to buy an annual pass for the 3 of us, but I was sorely disappointed. The Dallas aquariums are much better (all 3 that I've been to at least). This might be the first thing I've found while living here that I thought Texas did a better job at.

Flat Stanley |
We took at least 100 pictures of Autumn & Levi with Flat Stanley for Kaleb's school project. Most of the pictures are showing Levi throwing a fit because he was mad that we didn't go straight home after swim lessons (inside pool, YMCA). Only a few of the pictures turned out acceptable to send to the Koldans.
